YMCA on Midlands Today

Sleep Easy 2012 saw a massive turnout of 63 people! These people were able to raise over £6000 to support the Moving Forward Fund, which will enable our residents who are ready to move out of the YMCA and into their own accommodation, so apply for a grant which will allow them to but necessary items needed for their new home.

opendoorwebA groundbreaking project for young homeless people running in Sandwell for the past 3 years is to be offered to young people across the Black Country from May. YMCA Open Door provides accommodation for vulnerable young people by placing them in the spare rooms of people who live in the community.

regionalawards2Over 160 people, most of them young people from YMCAs across the Midlands came together on Tuesday 15 November, at Burton Albion F.C.’s Pirelli Stadium for their annual gathering to celebrate the outstanding achievements and successes of young people, volunteers and staff. It was a great evening and was compared by two of our very own stars from West Bromwich YMCA.

musicworkshopOn Wednesday 23rd March, some of the residents got involved in a Music Production Workshop. This is the second one which has been held recently and provides a chance for residents to write lyrics to go over a beat.
