The newly finished Children’s Centre site at Tividale Hall Primary School is now open for business.
Services began in December and new ones will be starting in the New Year.
The first new service to start was a Daddy Longlegs, Dads and Male Carers group which ran a Christmas workshop with music, craft and stories. The fathers and a grand father, and their children enjoyed mince pies and a sing song at the end of the session. Everyone enjoyed themselves and further sessions are planned to take place on a regular basis starting later in January. Take a look at the Tividale Children’s Centre Notice Board outside the school for more details.
The Citizens Advice Bureau will be running sessions by appointment at the Tividale site starting on Friday January 9th, session times and locations are as follows:
Mondays: 2pm-5pm at Tividale Hall site
Wednesdays: 2:30 -5.00pm at Rounds Green Primary School
Fridays: 9am – 12pm at Tividale Hall site
Call the Children’s Centre on 01384 243227 for further details and to book an appointment. Some last minute bookings may be available or you can take a chance and call in.
Other services which will be running workshops and drop in session at the Tividale Hall site: Aquarius, alcohol abuse and information service, Sandwell Women’s Aid, and others. Keep a look out in the Notice Boards for more details and information.
Twinkles Twins Group
The new group for twins under 5 and their parents and carers at Elm Terrace Clinic will be starting up again on Tuesday January 6th, 1:30-3pm.
This is a great chance to bring your children along to play with other twins and have a chat to other parents and carers.
The Maternity support service will have 2 workers based at the Children’s Centre from February 2009 and we will also have our Family Support workers on staff then as well.
Notice Boards:
Tividale Children’s Centre notice boards are located at Tividale Hall Primary School, Oakham Primary School, Rounds Green Primary School, Grace Mary Primary School, Elm Terrace Clinic and Small World Day Nursery. Take a look and see what is happening in the Children’s Centre. Staff vacancies will also be advertised there first.
Newsletter:
As promised the first copy of the Tividale Children’s Centre newsletter was distributed to the schools and clinics in the area in December, there is also a copy here on the webpage for you to look at. If you have anything that you would like included in the next newsletter, please contact the Children’s Centre on 01384 243227.
Other sites:
We have had a few more setbacks with the building at Oakham Primary School but we hope to be able to move into it very soon.
The building work on the Church House at Holy Cross Church on the Grace Mary estate is due to start in January and should be completed by the end of March. This will be a wonderful community building when it is completed and it will also be the main administration centre for the Children’s Centre.
Don’t Forget to Look out for the Frog!
You may have already seen pictures of the Tividale Children’s Centre Frog. He is making an appearance in the area on posters, flyers and anything else that is used to promote the Children’s Centre services. He is also on the buildings and the notice boards! Children’s Centre services will be operating wherever you see him, so you can drop in and see for yourself what is on offer for you and your family.
