New Plans for Redevelopment Revealed.

If you've been to the YMCA lately, you'll have no doubt noticed the first stage of our redevelopment, the brand new youth centre and day nursery is well underway, and is due to be finished later this year.

To prepare for our next two phases we held a community consultation, to give local residents the opportunity to speak to the architects involved in the build, and share opinions on thoughts on the plans for phases 2 and 3.

Dean Shaw and Russel Morris from Bryant Priest Newman presented the new drawings for the next phases, which were very well received.

Ivan who is 92, and regularly comes to the YMCA to brush up on his computer skills said, " I’m most impressed by the plans and I’m sure everyone will be. It lifts the area and puts the focus back onto the clocktower.”

Construction on phase 2, which will include the new Gym and the Cafe is expected to begin in summer 2011.
