Supported Lodgings
The Open Door Supported Lodgings Scheme is a groundbreaking initiative led by the YMCA, in partnership with Sandwell MBC and other local partners, which allows young people aged 16 and over the opportunity to lodge in a family setting whilst still receiving all the benefit of being housed through the YMCA.
The project provides a more appropriate accommodation route for vulnerable young people - which the local authority has a statutory duty to house - than B&B accommodation or some hostel type provision.
Do you have a spare room?
YMCA Black Country Group are looking for families, couples or single people across Sandwell, Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton, who have a spare room and are interested in hosting a vulnerable or homeless young person as a lodger. In return for providing a room, food and some support you will receive £110 a week and a great support package.
If you are 16 or over would like more information about the project please contact
