mikey "The YMCA's vision is of an inclusive Christian movement,
transforming communities so that all young people truly belong, contribute and thrive."

This vision drives us to want to do everything we can to enable young people to truly belong contribute and thrive. The YMCA Movement allows us to give all our young people opportunities that they could only have dreamed of.

We employ a Young Person and Resident Participation Worker to build relationships with the residents and facilitate their involvement in a wide range of projects and opportunities. These include local initiatives such as, regional meetings and training, national opportunities and International involvement in the Worldwide movement of YMCAs.

Residents are also encouraged to take up volunteering opportunities, and work placements both within and outside the YMCA. Three of our young residents have recently been employed in Housing and IT under the Future Jobs Fund scheme.

They have had the chance to experience full time work within their given career paths, and have provided excellent support for the Association and the wider movement. Richard Gaffney set up a resident’s breakfast club amongst other things and Gareth Williams provided comparing skills and stand-up comedy at the 2010 YMCA National Assembly in Nottingham.

See what the residents have been upto lately!
