Greenbelt Festival 2010

During the August Bank Holiday weekend in 2010, me, 5 other residents and 3 members of YMCA staff went to the Greenbelt Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse.

My experience of Greenbelt was very good. It was one of my first festivals so I was a bit nervous as to what it would be like.

The people were really friendly so I felt welcome. We had to get up at 6am to work in the YMCA 24hour café till 11am. Other YMCA’s covered the other shifts. When we were in the YMCA café I had to cook, stock shelves, serve the customers and clean.

When we weren’t working we got to do what we wanted. There was a lot on offer such as music, comedy, workshops, talks, and discos in the evening.

The mornings I worked though were fantastic because it meant I learnt a bunch of new skills!
