Greenbelt 2011

During the last weekend of August, a bunch of us took a camping trip to Cheltenham Racecourse, and volunteered at a famous Christian Arts Festival, Greenbelt.

It was a fun packed weekend, with many genres of music, and many creative arts stalls available to look around. Each day we worked 51/2 hours shifts at various times of the day in the YMCA 24hour café, serving food and drinks to the festival goers. It was hard work, but very beneficial. It was a fantastic weekend and such an amazing opportunity for everyone to meet new people and network with other YMCA’s from around the country.

 

Residents said, “Greenbelt was an amazing experience; we got to camp and volunteer in the 24hour YMCA Café. I got to learn how to be around people I didn’t know for 4 days, and understand; no matter what I’ve been through we’re all the same! Greenbelt made me understand myself more, I would recommend it to everyone and would love to go again next year!!”
