Supported Accommodation PDF Print E-mail

We work with homeless young people from a wide range of life experiences and backgrounds and this is reflected in the diveristy of the YMCA's provision.

We offer:

  • Supported accommodation for young people who might need help in other areas of their lives.
  • Foyer accommodation with training and education courses for residents

The aim of our housing project is to provide a safe and supportive environment which enables young people to move from dependent to independent living.

Most residents have been referred to us - either through self-referral (for example, when a young person is in housing need and makes contact with a housing worker at the YMCA reception), or through referral from another organisation or agency - for example a Local Authority, Social Services, Probation Service, other housing provider or other charity.

Each YMCA has its own procedures for selection and allocation of accommodation for young people and all YMCAs have on-site support staff available to provide advice and who provide security.

To find out about our facilities, or to apply for accommodation e-mail us, or call our Housing Office on 0121 524 1973.
