The West Bromwich & District YMCA runs a wide range of different services across an increasing number of sites in Sandwell. Below is a summary of these services and links to each area.

Childcare & Family Support: We operate  2 Day Nurseries, registered to provide care and education for up to a total of 125 children from 6 weeks to 5 years. The Out of School Clubs at Carters Green and Penny Hill School provide a safe stimulating environment for 4 years – 14 year olds, supporting local parents to take up education, training and work opportunities. Newly launched Tividale Children's Centre will serve hundreds of families with a raft of exciting and innovative projects based around supporting all the children and families in that area.

The National Lottery funded Well Being Centre (Part of Being Well in Sandwell) has greatly expanded the services on offer to the public, particulary people on low incomes. Aromatherapy, Tai Chi, Fitness Yoga, Light Boxes and Mindfulness Training are some of the new facilities available at the centre.

The community café is part of Sandwell’s Healthy Living Network and provides a healthy menu incorporating a ‘5-a-day’ message. The Dance Studio, Mini Gym and Sports Hall provides a host of programmed and hireable facilities.

This short-term accommodation is linked to life, social and resettlement skill development. The projects also link with initiatives to develop basic skills, job search and ICT usage.

The newly launched Supported Lodgings Scheme (SLS) is a groundbreaking initiative led by the YMCA, in partnership with Sandwell MBC and other local partners, which allows young people aged 16-18 the opportunity to lodge in a family setting whilst still receiving all the benefit of being housed through the YMCA. The SLS is now actively looking for families, couples or single people who have a room to spare and would be interested in helping a young person build a better future.

Community Services: The ICT / IAG facilities provides free internet access, email, games and IT training to Foyer residents and the local community. Local residents can also access information, advice and guidance on future education, training or employment opportunities.

Room hire is also available with a wide range of different options from small meeting rooms for 2-3 people, to a large sports hall for evening events and functions. Catering is also available through the cafe & catering team.
